We are looking for a passionate and experienced team players and team leaders to join us as Baristas and Barista Maestros (Shift Leader), ensuring an excellence coffee and food experience for our guest, community, and fellow team members.

  • Ensure the quality of all food items by meeting all standards for food safety set by Costa and local public health regulations
  • Confidently operate a cash register and process payments accurately in cash or credit while maintaining a positive attitude during period of high volume
  • Encouraging a culture of excellence by working with your team to maintain high standards for health, safety, and cleanliness within the kitchen and across the store including food displays and refrigerators

Barista Maestro - In the absence of the General Manager, our Barista Maestros (Shift Leaders) are responsible for ensuring brand excellence, maintaining operational standards, and inspiring and leading our genuine and warm teams in delivering great experiences to our customers, our communities, and to our people. Additionally, you will:

  • Act as a team leader by coaching and supporting the team to deliver unbeatable experiences, while ensuring all procedures are followed, taking the lead on shift
  • Deploy the team according to the trading pattern, ensuring right people in the right place to maximize sales
  • When leading a shift, understand store performance against key KPI’s and build a daily achievable plan and communicate it out effectively
  • Implement new marketing POS, and brief the teams on new recipes/seasonal ranges and food items to ensure continued excellence to maximize every opportunity
  • Participate in the recruiting and interviewing process, and actively engage and support in team member development and growth including advancement opportunities, promotions and resignations
  • Train and accredit new Baristas, inspiring their new adventure with Costa

All Team Members - In addition to the duties described above, you will also enjoy the following:

  • Confidently operate a cash register and process payments accurately in cash or credit while maintaining a positive attitude during period of high volume
  • Be an advocate for an amazing café experience by understanding and supporting store management with any new programs, initiatives, or new food and beverage offerings
  • Ensure all Costa policies and procedures are followed at opening, during normal business hours, and at closing therefore maintaining an environment of excellence
  • From the quality of an espresso to the display and taste of a lunch plate, to the maintenance of equipment, to monthly coffee excellence scores, you’ll drive the highest of standards every time

  • Have previous experience in a fast paced environment
