Book Editing - For Retail Auto Industry
I’m seeking an experienced editor to review and structure a 40,000-word nonfiction manuscript focused on the automotive and insurance industries. SPECIFICALLY NO USE OF ANY AI TOOLS.
This is not primarily a proofreading job. Spelling and basic grammar are largely clean. What I need is a strong structural and developmental editor who can:
Improve overall flow and readability
Eliminate repetition
Strengthen chapter structure and transitions
Ensure ideas are presented clearly and logically
Refine tone for a professional audience
Prepare the manuscript for publishing format
Ideal Background:
Preference will be given to editors with real-world experience in one or more of the following:
Retail automotive (Finance Department or General Manager level)
Insurance industry (especially legal side)
Actuarial sciences
Automotive F&I products or compliance
Insurance-related legal roles
Industry familiarity is important. This book deals with concepts specific to automotive retail and insurance structures, so practical knowledge of how these industries operate will significantly improve the final product.
Project Details:
Approx. 40,000 words
Nonfiction / industry-focused
Looking for structural and flow improvement more than heavy line-by-line grammar correction
Final manuscript should be polished and ready for publication formatting
Please include:
A brief summary of your relevant industry experience
Examples of similar nonfiction editing work
Your editing approach (developmental vs. line editing, etc.)
I’m looking for someone who can elevate the structure and clarity of the manuscript while preserving the author’s voice.
