Headquartered in Utah, AENB is the single largest entity within American Express’ business, currently representing more than 50 percent of the Company’s Card Member Spending, nearly 90 percent of its lending and more than 60 percent its of revenues. AENB provides its customers with access to consistent payments, financing and savings products in three ways, including issuing and servicing charge and credit cards for our consumer and small business segments, offering commercial loans to small and midsized merchants, as well as installment loans to consumers; and maintaining a Personal Savings program consisting of high-yield savings accounts and certificate of deposit products. The Enterprise Control Management (ECM) team within AENB operates as a Center of Excellence to serve as a central support hub for all first-line control management teams throughout the enterprise and be a key connection point with the second-line Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) teams. - Enterprise Control Management: The team leads ECM governance, collaboration across business unit control teams, and ongoing efforts to continue to improve the control environment and deliver on our regulatory commitments. Additionally, is responsible for the strategy and execution of ECM initiatives, inclusive of transformation activities, including Project Guardian. **How will you make an impact in this role?** The ideal candidate displays an eagerness to learn about the Risk and Control environment within American Express and is excited to make connections and build relationships across the enterprise. They should be a strong communicator and be comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels. - Communicate requirements, gather agenda items, and prepare presentation materials. - Prepare RACI charts based on conversations with stakeholders. - Support the creation of materials for regular and ad hoc updates and presentations to various stakeholders and audiences across Control Management organizations. - Support the planning and coordination of Control Management Collaboration Groups across business units to drive community, share best practices, preview upcoming requirements or Policy changes, and drive consistency across the Control Management teams. - Support the planning and coordination of the Control Management Town Hall, which is held quarterly and broadcasted live across the enterprise. Town Halls foster a sense of community within Control Management, ensure colleagues have an awareness of the strategic vision for the organization, and provide a forum for key updates and changes that impact 1LOD. **Minimum Qualifications** - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related field. - Bachelor’s degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027. - Strong consultation, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to understand complex challenges and linkages and articulate them into actionable plans. - Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse group of partners and stakeholders. **Preferred Qualifications** - Growth Mindset & Adaptability: Eagerness to learn, ability to adapt to change, openness to feedback, and commitment to personal growth. - Interest in law or legal organizations, student government, political science, sociology.
