Coordinator of Employment Services

At The Arc Baltimore, the Coordinator of Employment Services supports The Arc Baltimore’s mission of assisting working-age adults with developmental disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive, integrated employment within the community. This position provides leadership, supervision, and operational support to Employment Support Specialist II (ESSII) staff and partners closely with the Director of Employment Services to oversee daily departmental operations, staff development, service quality, and performance outcomes.

The Coordinator of Employment Services ensures the delivery of high-quality employment support services in compliance with The Arc Baltimore’s policies, Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) requirements, while contributing to the achievement of departmental performance metrics.


Job Overview:


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure adherence to agency mission to support people to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose and meaningful relationships.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to Employment Support Specialist II (ESSII) staff.
  • Assist the Director of Employment Services with caseload assignments and workload management.
  • Coordinate post-placement job coaching supports to ensure smooth transitions into employment.
  • Ensure ESSII staff review and are trained on each supported person’s Person-Centered Plan (PCP) prior to service delivery.
  • Monitor completion of all required DDA and agency training and support ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to ESSII staff.
  • Track and monitor monthly progress visits conducted by ESSII staff.
  • Conduct one to two field site visits per month with each ESSII staff member to ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing employer partners to expand and enhance employment opportunities.
  • Maintain departmental tracking systems, including spreadsheets for job placements and coaching assignments.
  • Ensure individuals entering the department are accurately enrolled in ICM with complete information and appropriate services documented.
  • Review service notes, Care Tracker entries, and attendance modules within ICM for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Employment Services to ensure departmental performance metrics are achieved.
  • Maintain and update DORS tracking spreadsheets, including job development preparation, job development activities, job coaching services, and incentive tracking.
  • Ensure DORS billing documentation is completed accurately and submitted to accounting within established timelines.
  • Represent The Arc Baltimore professionally to employers, individuals served, families, care providers, funding agencies, referral sources, and community partners.
  • Complete all required agency training courses and refresher courses.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Employment Services.

Qualifications


Required:

  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Valid Driver’s License (not provisional) with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to use personal vehicle for business purposes and transport people as needed.
  • 3 years’ experience providing employment supports to people facing barriers to employment.
  • CESP certification required or ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills within a professional business environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, some evenings and weekends may be necessary.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing employment supports to people with developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with iCare Manager software.
