Pay range for this position is $31.67 - $47.47/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is a Salaried position.
Remote: This is a remote-working position at the discretion of leadership after training and orientation are completed.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY: The Data Abstractor RN is responsible for collecting information, analyzing and completing abstracts related to patients within specific quality measure populations. Conducts retrospective and applicable concurrent medical record reviews. Maintains internal and external databases, ensuring all appropriate data is entered in a timely manner. Maintains understanding of both measure requirements and clinical workflows to ensure accuracy and completeness of information. Identifies opportunities for both process and quality improvements and serves as a subject matter expert in organizational quality improvement initiatives. Provides clinical knowledge, expertise and guidance to non-RN abstractors.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems
Ability to interpret clinical data and understand clinical procedures and terminology
Licensure/Certification: Current state license registration as an RN (Illinois)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Epic experience; Previous surgery, vascular, or procedural area
Prior experience working with clinical quality measures and registries
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Awareness of the principles and fundamentals related to Performance Improvement
