Delivery Driver Helper

We are a Glass and mirror Fabricator located in Concord looking to add a driver helper to our team. Our organization delivers products to various construction sites throughout the GTA.

Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm - Monday to Friday and occasional weekends

Job Responsibilities

• Keep driver, team lead and supervisor informed of day-to-day activity
• Safely load and unload delivery truck
• Check work orders and labels to ensure accurate materials are being loaded into the truck
• Ensure PPE is worn at all times
• Inspect materials through various stages of delivery to ensure materials are free of damage or defect
• Distributing required materials to various locations within the suites/units/lots
• Ensure proper administration of all necessary paperwork occurs through various stages of the delivery process
• Assist inside warehouse when not on the road
• Experience navigating and finding delivery addresses
• Dependable, reliable and punctual
• Assist in communication using the company’s driver communication tools when driver is unable to do so (while driving)
• Attend various training sessions as requested by employer
• Understand the expectations of the driver role and assist where necessary
• All documents should be carried with the driver at all times (W.O.H, Driver License, WHMIS, etc.)
• Adhering to safe driving requirements administered by the Ministry of Transportation
• All other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2+ years work experience as a driver helper
• 3+ years experience driving what is classified as a Heavy Truck
• Valid Ontario G Licence
• Clean Drivers abstract
• Excellent driving skills
• Strong adherence to meeting quality and safety standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service
• Highly organized, with high level of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines for critical tasks
• Strong work ethic, motivation, interpersonal and judgment skills
• Required to communicate effectively with individuals from all levels
• Experience in the construction industry is an asset
• Open minded and flexible in a dynamic work environment
• Physical Efforts & Working Conditions:
• Standing for prolonged periods
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and over 50 lbs. with assistance
• Work standard delivery driver hours, overtime is sometimes necessary depending on the work volume
