Dental Assistant (DA)

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other staff members. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the dental office runs smoothly while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging as required.
  • Utilize Open Dental for patient management and documentation.
  • Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Open Dental is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards is essential.
  • Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding of medical imaging techniques is required.
  • Experience in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are necessary for managing patient records and appointments.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
