Director, Rates and Regulatory
Job Description:
- Identify, communicate, and advance key regulatory initiatives to support the Company’s strategic regulatory objectives
- Collaborate with state teams and regulatory stakeholders to advocate favorable outcomes, monitor regulatory developments, and shape effective strategies
- Facilitate and promote regular interactions between Company representatives and regulatory stakeholders
- Advocate for favorable regulatory outcomes through strategic engagement and messaging
- Develop and execute initiative-focused communications with regulatory stakeholders
- Participate in and assess the effectiveness of regulatory communications and strategies
- Support development and maintenance of strong relationships with key individuals in regulatory agencies and trade organizations
- Track and evaluate regulatory outcomes from jurisdictions the Company operates in
- Develop responsive strategies to address regulatory challenges and opportunities
- Educate state regulatory leaders on emerging regulatory trends and collaborate on state-specific strategies
- Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and consistency in regulatory messaging and initiatives
- Promote effective communications at industry conferences and forums
- Represent the Company in external meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements
- Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues in regulatory strategy and stakeholder engagement
- Lead and manage projects, facilitate meetings, and prepare exhibits and testimony to support regulatory initiatives
- Provide technical solutions and analysis on national issues
- Prepare communications that respond to requests from commissions or comply with regulatory needs
- Provide research and comparative analyses of complex public utility issues, trends and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 6 years prior experience in the utility industry and/or shared service or multi-company corporation
- Seasoned professional
- Ability to travel up to 70%
