Employment Advisor/ Mentor

<p>This is a temporary, on-site role for an Employment Advisor/Mentor based in Barnet. The successful candidate will work directly with individuals seeking Education, Employment, or Training (EET), including vulnerable young people, children in care, and care leavers, providing tailored coaching, guidance, and ongoing mentorship.</p><p><br></p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Delivering one-to-one employment support and personalised action planning</li><li>Preparing clients for interviews through mock sessions and targeted feedback.</li><li>Providing job search support, CV development, and application guidance</li><li>Supporting individuals with education pathways and enrolment processes</li><li>Offering targeted support to children in care and care leavers, understanding the additional barriers they may face</li><li>Working collaboratively with social workers, carers, Virtual School teams, and other professionals</li><li>Building confidence, resilience, and employability skills</li><li>Delivering high-quality customer service and maintaining accurate records</li></ul><p><br></p><p>The role requires a proactive, empathetic, and trauma-informed approach, supporting individuals to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable education, employment, or training outcomes.</p><p><br></p><p>⸻</p><p><br></p><p>Qualifications & Experience</p><p>• Strong job coaching and interview preparation skills</p><ul><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate client</li><li>Proven experience supporting vulnerable young people, including children in care and care leavers</li><li>Understanding of safeguarding practices and the specific challenges faced by looked-after children</li><li>Demonstrated experience in customer service and client support</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-agency team</li><li>Previous experience in education, mentoring, employability, or related services is desirable</li></ul><p><br></p>
