Forklift Operator – Stone, Marble & Granite Handling

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator with a specialized background in handling large slabs of granite, marble, and stone. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in the stone industry, particularly with forklifts equipped with clamp and boom attachments. Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts with clamp and boom attachments to transport, load, unload, and store large, heavy slabs of granite, marble, and stone.
• Ensure the proper handling of delicate stone materials to prevent damage.
• Move slabs of stone, marble, and granite throughout the warehouse, yard, and job site, ensuring they are stored correctly and securely.
• Work in collaboration with other team members to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of materials to the production areas.
• Inspect forklifts regularly to ensure they are in good working condition, performing minor maintenance when necessary.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, protocols, and company policies while operating the forklift and handling materials.
• Maintain an organized work area, ensuring safe access to all stone slabs and equipment.
• Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and preparing shipments.

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating forklifts in the stone, marble, or granite industry.
• Extensive experience using forklifts with clamp and boom attachments.
• Strong understanding of the unique requirements of handling large, heavy, and fragile stone materials.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, sometimes requiring assistance from a team.
• Valid forklift certification.
• Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
