Performance Foodservice, a leading player in the food distribution industry, is seeking dedicated Local Delivery Drivers to join our dynamic Transportation & Logistics team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of our food products to a variety of customers, ranging from family-owned eateries to large nationwide chains. As a Home Daily Driver, you will experience the gratification of delivering essential goods that help fuel the foodservice industry while enjoying the stability of being able to return home each night.
Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport food products to customers within a local or regional area.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good operating condition.
Load and unload cargo, managing the paperwork and documentation for each delivery.
Adhere to company policies and regulatory compliance with regard to transportation and safety standards.
Provide excellent customer service during delivery, addressing and resolving any customer issues promptly.
Maintain accurate logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations.
Skilled in operating tractor-trailers and other heavy vehicles safely and efficiently.
Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
Strong attention to detail for handling documentation and cargo handling.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle delivery issues.
