Kitchen Team Leader

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Team Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of food safety and management principles. This role involves supporting Chef, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining inventory control, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Kitchen Team Leader will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational efficiency and fostering a positive team environment within our restaurant.

Duties

  • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Oversee food production, ensuring quality standards and presentation are met consistently
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
  • Assist in menu planning, catering, banquet events, and special functions as needed
  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness and sanitation practices in accordance with industry standards
  • Support budgeting efforts and manage costs related to food production and labor

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or hospitality management within casual dining or quick service restaurants
  • Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP protocols, and food handling procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and develop staff effectively
  • Experience in managing inventory, and cost control in a restaurant setting
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Culinary experience or fine dining background is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus; background in catering or banquet services is beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through training & development initiatives and interview prospective employees

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
