Laboratory Technician

<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description:</b></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p>The Lab Technician supports site Q&FS in ensuring inbound materials are suitable for use in a rapid test laboratory environment for our Petcare brands. The Associate will perform activities including inspection, quality control, analytic operations, and material reception operations.</p><p></p><p>The laboratory is the first step in the production process and ensures raw materials used in production are fit for use. Engages with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to: supply chain team, site quality team, maintenance, truck drivers, security and operations.</p><p></p><p></p><h1><b><span><span>What are we looking for?</span></span></b></h1><ul><li><p>At least High School Diploma or equivalent; science background/continuing education preferred.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of food safety, prior experience in food related manufacturing or GMP environment preferred.</p></li><li><p>Problem solving skill and systematic thinking.</p></li><li><p>Communication and influencing skills.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated leadership and technical skills adequate as outlined above.</p></li><li><p>Effective verbal & written communication skills.</p></li><li><p>Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team setting.</p></li><li><p>Physical requirements: Some pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) necessary.</p></li></ul><h1></h1><p></p><h1><b>What will be your key responsibilities?</b></h1><ul><li><p>Quality tests of all incoming raw materials as specified in reception procedure.</p></li><li><p>Sampling raw materials from bulk trucks, tankers, pallets big bags, and totes.</p></li><li><p>Perform various laboratory analysis on raw materials according to control plan.</p></li><li><p>Perform receiving document procedures (delivery documentations) and sign delivery documents including, if necessary, quality / quantity objections.</p></li><li><p>Inform Laboratory Manager of quality deviations according to product standards and production procedures.</p></li><li><p>Accept or decline reception of goods according to reception procedures.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with raw material supply coordinator on inbound receiving scheduling priority.</p></li><li><p>Maintain lab inventory including chemicals, consumables, and testing kits.</p></li><li><p>Perform area-related equipment first level maintenance.</p></li><li><p>Detect and report raw material quality issues.</p></li><li><p>Prepare samples and documentation for external labs.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMP's.</p></li><li><p>Promote high quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.</p></li><li><p>Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Laboratory Manager.</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><h1><b>What can you expect from Mars?</b></h1><ul><li><p>Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.</p></li><li><p>Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.</p></li><li><p>Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.</p></li><li><p>An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>#LI-ONSITE</p><p>#LI-KR5</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>
