Staff Accountant AND Financial Analyst

Position SummaryAccurate Paper Box is seeking a high performing Staff Accountant AND Financial Analyst to own both the integrity of our financial reporting and the improvement of our financial performance.
This is a hands on role responsible for maintaining clean, accurate books while also driving financial visibility, margin analysis, and operational insight. We are a growing manufacturing company with a small, high accountability team. Each team member is expected to take initiative, operate with urgency, and improve the business beyond their defined tasks.
This position requires both precision and analytical depth. The ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, proactive, comfortable holding others accountable, and capable of identifying opportunities to strengthen financial systems and profitability.
Core Responsibilities
Accounting Ownership
Manage accounts payable and ensure accurate expense coding
Manage accounts receivable including active follow up on past due balances
Maintain accurate general ledger in QuickBooks Online
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Record journal entries and accruals
Support and participate in month end close
Prepare financial statements including profit and loss and balance sheet
Ensure books are accurate and ready for external CPA review
Financial Analysis and Margin Improvement
Analyze job level profitability and margin trends
Identify cost drivers and areas of margin leakage
Support leadership with financial insights that inform decision making
Build and maintain analytical reports in Excel
Develop KPI dashboards to improve operational visibility
Perform variance analysis and trend analysis
Operator analysts who generate insight and drives change, not merely reports on it. Find it, report it, fix and improve it
ERP and Systems Optimization
Work within ERP systems to ensure accurate data flow into accounting
Reconcile ERP data with QuickBooks and identify inconsistencies
Evaluate and improve reporting architecture
Improve data cleanliness and tracking accuracy
Recommend system and workflow improvements
Accountability and Initiative
Proactively follow up with customers on outstanding receivables
Follow up internally when information is required to complete financial tasks
Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions
Operate with a high level of ownership and personal responsibility
Required Qualifications 3 to 7 years of hands on accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
Experience working within an ERP system
Direct experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Experience completing monthly bank reconciliations independently
Strong understanding of debits and credits
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and lookup functions
Demonstrated experience improving a financial process or reporting structure
Ability to work independently and operate with initiative
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with inventory accounting and cost tracking
Experience building dashboards or financial analysis tools
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Analytics, Finance, or related field
