<strong>Position Description<br><br></strong>FLSA/Comps Status: Nonexempt/Hourly Department: Structural Division<br><br>Job Title: Finisher Date: 2/24/2021 Reports to: Foreman Location: Western CO, Eastern UT<br><br>EPA Factors: (1) Seniority (2) Merit (3) Experience<br><br>General Purpose of Position: finish concrete as instructed by foreman.<br><br>Supervision Received: daily<br><br>Supervision Exercised: none<br><br><strong>Essential Position Functions And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Smoothes and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks or curbs to specified textures, using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels and screeds.<br><br></li></ul><strong>General Job Duties<br><br></strong><ul><li> Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.</li><li> Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.</li><li> Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms, using rake or shovel.</li><li> Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using handheld or power screed and floats.</li><li> Smoothes and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straightedge and float or power screed.</li><li> Finishes concrete surfaces, using power trowel, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish.</li><li> Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, using power grinder or chisel and hammer, and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.</li><li> Molds expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers and straightedge.</li><li> May sprinkle colored stone chips, powdered steel or coloring powdered on concrete to produce prescribed finish.</li><li> May produce rough concrete surface, using broom.</li><li> May mix cement, using hoe or concrete-mixing machine.</li><li> May direct sub grade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms.</li><li> May specialize in finishing steps and stairways.</li><li> May break up and repair old concrete surfaces, using pneumatic tools.</li><li> May spread premixed cement over deck, inner surfaces, joints and crevices of various substrata.</li><li> Performing other duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Position Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> Minimum Education and Experience: must have working knowledge of grades, screeding, floating, finishing concrete slabs, curbs, etc.</li><li> Tools, Equipment, or Machines Required to Operate: must own personal hand tools. Must be able to run trowel machines.</li><li> Physical Requirements:</li><li> General: walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools, reach with hands and arms, talk, listen, hear, read, see, lift, bend, climb in/out of equipment.</li><li> Lifting: 80 to 100 pounds at least one time daily or as necessary.</li><li> Exposure to Elements: heat, cold, rain, snow.</li><li> Handling of Dangerous Equipment: loaders, small cranes (boom trucks), trowel machines, powered hand tools.</li><li> Other Hazardous Working Conditions: none<br><br></li></ul>pd str finisher p. 2 rev.010121 printed 2/24/2021<br><br><ul><li> Scheduled Work Hours: Monday -- Friday, usually 6:30-7 am to 3-3:30 pm unless directed by supervisor.
