Tech Lead - Full Time

Lief is a fast-growing, impact-first SaaS scale-up modernising social care in the UK. Our tools are used daily by thousands of care workers to improve the lives of vulnerable children—every feature built goes straight into production and makes a difference from day one.

We’re a fully remote, globally distributed team with co-working access and provide stock options, and the rare chance to work on a product with a social purpose.

We are looking for a brilliant Tech Lead with experience scaling tech teams to grow with Lief.

What will you be doing?

If you’re successfully hired for this role, you will be taking up the following responsibilities among others:

• Lead and mentor a small, high-performing engineering team
• Architect and ship scalable features on our full-stack SaaS platform
• Work with the product team to plan and prioritize technical roadmap
• Stay hands-on with code (60% IC, 40% team/project management)
• Own our AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling via Bitbucket
• Make thoughtful technical decisions balancing speed, debt, and scale
• Champion code quality, automation, and best practices across the team

What you’ll need to bring to the table?

• Proficiency in:

• ReactJS, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL
• Prisma and Postgres
• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.)
• CI/CD tools and Git (Bitbucket preferred)

• Strong understanding of B2B SaaS architectures and secure data design
• Clear communicator who can work directly with founders, PMs, and designers
• Comfortable mentoring devs, running sprint planning, and reviewing PRs
• Bonus: experience with mobile apps or AI integrations
