VP, Controller - SaaS

<p>A high-growth SaaS company is seeking a VP, Controller to lead its accounting function during a pivotal stage of scale. This is a hands-on leadership role for a technically strong accounting business partner who has experience supporting rapid growth, building scalable processes, and operating within a recurring-revenue business model. Partnering closely with the VP, Finance & CFO this is a hybrid role based in Manhattan. Relocation assistance is provided for those candidates who are not located in New York.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the VP, Controller role</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Mentor and lead the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.</li><li>Partner with other departments to align financial operations with broader business objectives.</li><li>Spearhead initiatives to implement automated processes that enhance accuracy and efficiency.</li><li>Lead accounting, tax, and financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.</li><li>Develop technical accounting memos, policies, and desktop procedures to clarify and streamline processes across the organization.</li><li>Oversee closing processes, including consolidations, preparing financial statements, and delivering reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure timely external audits, maintain an effective control environment, and manage tax filings.</li><li>Manage and oversee transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize tax strategies.</li><li>Continuously assess and enhance financial workflows for efficiency and accuracy.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key requirements:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>10+ years in accounting or a similar financial environment, with technology/start-up experience preferred.</li><li>Big 4 experience and CPA designation highly desired.</li><li>Proficient in establishing automated processes to enhance team effectiveness and minimize errors.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills; reliable and responsive to all forms of communication.</li><li>Proven ability to manage projects, build cross-functional relationships, and drive initiatives to successful completion.</li></ul><p></p>
